Kat Sawyer is a true Renaissance Woman. She enjoys success as an actress, yoga instructor, award-winning writer, and much sought-after painter.
She began her artistic life with a career in acting. Having received a B.A. in theater from U.C.L.A., she has appeared in over a hundred TV shows, movies, voice-overs, and commercials.
To balance her outward focus as a performer, Kat practices the inner art of yoga. A teacher since 1993, she’s the prize-winning author of Voices from the Mat – Yoga Poems and Meditations and Poetry in Pose – Haha Haikus for Yogis.
As a painter, Kat has won awards in international, national, and regional exhibitions.
Her humorous article, Extreme Painting – The Perils of Plein-air was published in the October 2003 issue of The Artist's Sketchbook. In March 2006, The Artists Magazine featured her essay, The Painting-Yoga Connection.
She is represented by Michael Wigley Galleries in Santa Fe and Indigo Gallery in Madrid.
